Making an environmentally sensitive and socially equitable Solar Energy Development in India

Policy Brief Paper assesses environmental impacts of solar power generation that cannot be ignored and infact be factored in solar projects to make JNNSM socially equitable and environmentally sustainable. The misleading assumptions made under the JNNSM that there is "zero" environmental impact of solar energy development in the country needs to be rectified to advocate the use of legal instruments to make the JNNSM socially equitable and environmentally sustainable.
