Dr. Maya Joshi is Associate Professor of English at Lady Shri Ram College, University of Delhi, a leading women’s liberal arts college, which is also her alma mater. She has researched cross-cultural encounters in early twentieth century India for her Ph.D., while her recent Fulbright post- doctoral research at the University of Pennsylvania focused on polymath, traveller, and one of the makers of modern Indian/Hindi literature, Rahul Sankrityayan, whose works she has also translated and edited. She has also worked in a semi-formal capacity with Tibet House, Delhi for several years and is associated with the World Buddhist Culture Trust. She supports NGOs that work with artisans and with ecological issues. She explores Buddhist philosophy, sociology, ecology, and literatures across a spectrum, in the classroom and beyond, giving talks, doing workshops, mentoring, and writing. She enjoys art, books, wholesome cuisines, good conversations, and travel.
