Ranja Sengupta

Ranja Sengupta works as Senior Researcher and Coordinator of the trade programme of the Third World Network.  Sengupta works extensively on trade and investment policies, including on the WTO, bilateral and regional trade and investment agreements, both at global and national level, with focus on agriculture and food security, livelihoods, access to resources and critical services; and often from a cross cutting lens on specific constituencies such as women, farmers, and workers. She has also focused on the linkage between trade issues and sustainable development, and has worked extensively on the "2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development" including the Sustainable Development Goals, and on financing for development. Sengupta holds an M. Phil degree in Economics from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi and has engaged with various developing country governments, the UN, and civil society organisations in terms of generating and providing relevant policy analysis and recommendations on these issues.
