Ms Sadia Sohail joined the Heinrich Böll Foundation Regional Office-New Delhi in June 2015 as a Coordinator for the Resources & Sustainable Development Programme. The programme works with civil society and think tanks to engage on issues of resource equity and governance, energy transition and broadening of the debate on alternative development pathways in India.
Prior to joining the Foundation, Sadia was working as a Senior Research Associate at Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) a public interest research and advocacy organization based in New Delhi. She was a part of Training and Community Support team at CSE and was responsible for carrying out policy research and capacity building. Her areas of research included environmental governance and waste management with e-waste being an area where she specialises. She was involved in capacity building of environmental regulators such as State Pollution Control Boards (SPCBs), Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) and environmental professionals from India as well as South Asia on compliance, monitoring and enforcement, best practices in environmental governance and other contemporary issues.
Sadia is a Masters in environmental studies from the Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), New Delhi.
