Shubha Chacko

Shubha Chacko is the Founding Executive Director of Solidarity Foundation, an NGO that supports grassroots organizations led by gender and sexual minorities (LGBTIQ+) and sex workers—by strengthening collectives, capacities and connections.
With over three decades of experience in the fields of development, human rights, and social justice, Shubha has played diverse roles across the sector. She currently serves on the board of the Global Fund for Community Foundations and is an active member of BRICS Feminist Watch and the Alliance of Feminist Collectives. She also represents India on the CSO Steering Committee for the Beijing +30 process.
Shubha has been recognized for her leadership and advocacy on several platforms. She was named a Global Diversity Leader at the World HRD Congress in Mumbai (2017), received the Kenneth Cole Courageous Class Award in 2018, and was honoured as an Equality Champion by Accenture the same year.
She has been an invited speaker to numerous national and international forums. Shubha holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences.
