Siddhartha studied law in India and got a master’s and MPhil in social anthropology from Paris. He was the international coordinator of INODEP, founded by Paulo Freire in Paris. He has lectured all over the world on social, cultural, and ecological issues. He has written and edited several books on similar themes. He is the Founder of Pipal Tree, and Fireflies Intercultural Centre, which are concerned with action and research on sustainable development topics.
