India is one of the few countries in the world where a massive energy transition is underway. Renewable energies are fast replacing fossil fuels, paving way for a low carbon growth. The Regional Office of Heinrich Böll Stiftung (hbs) has been supporting civil society and partners in India in their initiatives in leapfrogging to renewable energy by showcasing policy options and experiences from the “energy transition” in Germany. We also support partners in networking, building their capacities and executing research that can inform policies geared towards clean energy.
